Corporate Event Video DJ Hire (Corporate VDJ) — London

A corporate VDJ pairs a live DJ set with real-time video mixing — the visuals on screen are cut and blended live, in time with the music, rather than a fixed loop running behind the decks. We run this as a hybrid turntable scratch set on Serato DJ and MixEmergency, so the same hand movements that control the music are also cutting the picture. For Acer’s 50th anniversary event, we ran this across a 16m screen spanning five decades of music genres, mixed live from the side and front of the rig.

What a Corporate VDJ Actually Does

The VJ side of the set is one person reading the room and choosing the next visual the way a DJ reads the room and chooses the next track — a music video clip, an abstract loop, or a branded graphic, cut and blended in real time rather than played back from a fixed file. On the turntable-and-Serato setup we use, the same scratch and mix movements that shape the audio are also cutting the video layer, so the two are locked together rather than one just running behind the other.

Where This Works Best

Product launches — visuals cut in time with the reveal rather than a static slide behind it. Keynotes — a moving visual layer instead of a fixed deck of slides. Brand activations and expos — logos and product imagery mixed live into the visual set rather than sitting static in a corner of a screen, the way we built Acer’s 50-year branding into the visuals throughout their anniversary set.

The Setup — Serato DJ, MixEmergency, and a Turntable Scratch Set

This runs as a genuine hybrid performance rather than two separate roles bolted together: a turntable-based scratch set on Serato DJ, paired with MixEmergency handling the video layer, so the DJ’s physical scratching and mixing is what’s driving the visuals as well as the music. For Acer’s 50th anniversary, this ran across a 16m screen — filmed side-on for the first five minutes, then front-on from four to eight minutes, covering five decades of music and matching visual eras.
